Friday the Fun Begins

2:30 - 5 pm Classes

Two great class times with wonderful instructors and ideas!

Glue Gun Holder - Joann Eyster - Iwig Room - In Piatt

A glue gun and glue stick holder out of wood. A small wood box that will hold glue sticks. The glue gun set on a wooden blocks and plaque.

Cost: $15

Supplies needed:If you liked to bring your glue gun and sticks to set it up and see what it would be like.

Mini Iron Class - Tricia Rogge - Main Dining Room

This is a cute iron rest for the mini irons or large irons while sewing. This iron rest is about 11.5" long x 5.5" wide and 1" thick. supplies will be provided for you. You will have the opportunity to choose fabric and be creative. This is easy to make, small enough to take on your retreats and sewing outings with friends! Mine goes with me everywhere I sew!

Cost: $10

Supplies needed: Basic sewing supplies, plus a sewing machine, thread (any color will do), iron (to flatten seams). All other supplies will be provided.

Garden Caddy - Carol Meffert - Main Dining Room

Create this handy caddy to hold your garden tools, paint brushes, tools or crafting supplies. So handy!

Cost: $10

Supplies needed: You will need to bring 6 cans of the same size (24oz - 30 oz size) to create this craft. You'll also need paint brushes, paper towels, scissors.

Rugged Cross - Jo Menacher - Main Dining Room

Create an inspirational sign with a mix of painting & stenciling. This beginning level class will share a lot of tips & tricks!

Cost: $25

Supplies needed: Basic Painting kit & T-square if you have one. The kit will include the wood piece, acrylic paint, stencils to use, ident pen to use. (The designer of this project has retired, so when these kits are gone, they are gone!). The beginning level class combines painting & stenciling.

We will be making a scarecrow out of clear wine bottles. Inside be fairy light, luau skirt, burlap, paint and fall leaves.

Cost: $15

Supplies needed: Yourself!

Make It, Take It - Donna Becke - Main Dining Room

Donna has a variety of easy and fun projects to enjoy. The idea of Make it, Take its allows you to work at your own pace

Cost: Varies, cash and carry

Supplies needed: Usually these kits are inclusive and can be accomplished using a basic sewing kit.

Prayer Quilts - Cathy Morelli - Main Dining Room

Paper Bead Jewelry - Jane Zerkel - Main Dining Room

Make fun jewelry from paper beads that you make yourself!

Cost: $5

Supplies needed: Just yourself!

This year at camp we will also be making Pocket Prayer Quilts. Using our Class format we will bringing two old quilts that we will square off into smaller pocket size pieces, fusible prayerful sayings and words of encouragement that can be added along with embellishments, buttons and a small wooden cross.

We will be donating these to the Family Services of Piatt County as part of their Holiday gift bags to caregivers. Sign up to sit and sew with us, offering good thoughts and hopeful wishes as we make these little treasures.

Cost: None

Supplies needed: Basic sewing kit. Also, please feel free to bring along your extra ribbons, charms, buttons and embellishments to share. These kits can be accomplished with hand sewing, it would not be considered cheating if you made twice as many with a sewing machine.
